Milan Cemetery-Home of Abbotts Tomb

Milan Cemetery

The Legend of Milan Cemetery in Milan, Ohio:

The Birth Place of Thomas Edison is the small town of Milan, Ohio's claim to fame. In this town, which is located just off of Route 250, you may not see much of a difference from most other small towns, except their small fame of Thomas Edison. Some of the few stores in their downtown district, proudly latched to the Edison fame, and near the back of town you will find the Thomas Edison Museum.

The town Milan may not want to admit it, but in their small town cemetery, their may be resident or residents that are roaming the grounds both in day and night, that were suppose to be dead. Well, according to the legends, they are, but they have seemed to stick around in their spiritual state.

Although there are many rumors of certain tombs and spots of this Milan Cemetery to be haunted, their famed Haunted stories mostly have a common theme, Abbotts Tomb...

G.T.P.R.S.-Visit to Milan Cemetery

Upon pulling into the cemetery, you could instantly feel the cemeteries mystical feel. Something seemed different, and really it was a different feeling I have ever had entering a cemetery.

The moment we parked, The rest of the crew went searching for the stories Abbotts Tomb, while I went in the opposite direction to get a lone feel of the cemetery.

I went into the back of the cemetery near the wildlife sanctuary. I then took a few pictures, plus began a little audio work...

Wildlife Trail

For some reason I was having trouble with the pictures, the sun seemed to create a very bright glare on most of my pictures, but not all of them... Here is one of the pictures I took at the Sanctuary:

Milan Bright Light Man Stone

As I stood still performing EVP work, I felt liked I was being watched the whole time. After a few minutes in near the Wildlife Sanctuary, I then walked to the Back right of the cemetery, near the very large Tomb..I then performed more audio work, which later I found a few suspect audio pieces. Both of these were near this tomb.

Fries Tomb

One of which sounded like a man saying "Please God!" or "Pray to God!" Although the audio is faint, I still can't deny it is there. To hear it you have to listen carefully to the audio, which is currently posted in our gallery. What was really odd, just a few feet from where I was standing was a nicely decorated tomb stone of Rev. Leonard Lentsch. If this was him, then he has been around a while, on his tombstone it stated that he died in 1912....

After I finished up some audio work. I then ventured back toward where the rest of the crew was, Abbotts Tomb. I then started to perform some audio work there, but upon review of the evidence, I did not receive anything, but Fred had a successful encounter while knocking on the tomb and asking if anyone was their...

Abbotts

A clear man's voice overlapped the end of Fred words, saying "I'm not Opening up!" This was not a hard to hear class D, this was clear as day, Class A. The clip was caught on a basic tape recorder and is currently in the possession of Fred and Cathy Blay. I'm hoping they can transfer it, with out losing the quality, to upload it to our gallery, it is an excellent catch.

Do We feel that Milan Cemetery is Haunted?

Tree Face

Although we did catch some promising evidence, the total amount of evidence is slim, but as a personal feeling I do feel like this Cemetery is haunted.

The moment I stepped foot into this cemetery, I felt the mystical feel of it. It was unique and really I haven't felt that way about a cemetery yet, only this one.

I'm not sure why, but I feel like there is some sort of portal or hole to the spirit world here. We don't have the evidence of yet to back this up, but on a personal feeling, I do believe there is an electric atmosphere in this cemetery, and do believe there are many ghosts walking this plot of land.

If my believe is correct, I do not recommend using any type of channeling methods in this cemetery, such as Ouija Boards. If there is some sort of portal here, performing these actions, could result in a possible demonic attack, that is IF there in fact a portal or spirit hole there. Again this is a personal belief and we do not have anything as of yet to back this up.

As for the Abbotts Tomb Rumor, from what Fred caught on Tape, it seemed to back up that there is something guarding this tomb from the spirit world, is an Abbott or the Abbott, who knows?

During some research we did find out that the Father and Mother Abbott do not currently reside in the Tomb. They are buried in a few plots next to the tomb. They were moved when their children were placed in this tomb. The children were original buried in the old Abbott home, but the home was sold, and the new owners moved them to the Tomb.

On a personal Belief, yes I do believe it is haunted, but on a physical evidence factor, we have yet to gather enough to suggest so, although we do have somethings that may back up my belief.

We will be visiting this Cemetery on our next trip to Ohio and hope to spend more time there....Stay tuned for updates...
